The people I love often get overlooked, stared at, judged, discriminated, treated too childish, or simply ignored. The people I love help me more than they could ever know. The people I love make me happier than a bowl of grapenuts with raspberries, and thats hard to do. The people I love bring me tears of joy every time I talk to, wave across the room to, or just pass a smile to every now and then. The people I love have changed my life more than I ever thought imaginable in the past three years I have been involved with them. The people I love make my heart full of joy in an overwhelming feeling of gratitude to my heavenly father for enabling them to be a part of my life, and mine in theirs. The people I love will never know how much I truly love them, it will never be able to be put into words, only a heart felt connection can be felt. The people I love will be forever felt in my heart, and I am grateful to have a couple more years with them.   

Christmas Party

We had the best Best Buddies Christmas party last week! Thank you to all who came out and helped out! We made ginger bread houses and holiday cards, sang Christmas carols and of course, hung out with Santa!!! Santa even gave out a few prizes to some of the buddies who dressed to spread Christmas cheer.

Wednesday, December 5th at 6 pm at the Lundstrom Center we are having our USU Best Buddies Christmas party. Wear your Christmas clothes because Santa will be there!

Thanksgiving Cook-off

On Wednesday, Novemeber 14th we had our annual USU Best Buddies Thanksgiving cook off. It was awesome! Everyone brought such delicious treats to share. We had some celebrity judges who picked their favorite treats and handed out trophies to the winners. The guest judges were Mr. USU- Doug Feifia, Utah State's student body president- Christian Thrapp, Miss Utah, USA-Marissa Powell and Miss Teen Utah, USA- Chloe Crump. (HUGE THANKS TO THEM!) We also made some crafts, wrote on a "thankful tree", had two of our awesome buddies share about their experience in Best Buddies, and played a getting to know you game. Thank you to all who came and made our activity possible. We had so much fun! We are so thankful for Best Buddies and for all of our participants and volunteers!

Buddy Spotlight

                                                  
Today we are spotlighting Melanie (one of our USU Best Budies directors) and Jani. Here is what Melanie wrote about their friendship;
Jani  and I have been buddies for three years now. I have grown to not only love her but also her family as well. I truly think of Jani as one of my greatest friends. She always remembers to call me, and follows through with what she says she will do. Also Jani is a huge help with making matches every year and she really knows the buddies well so it helps us a lot! Our favorite things to do together include bowling, going out to eat, making cards, and going to all the monthly chapter activities. Jani loves Christmas and starts the holiday spirit early by listening to music and wearing festive Christmas sweaters, I love that about her! She is kind to those around her and works at a daycare so she especially loves working with children. Jani is very organized and keeps me on track. She is so sweet and I have loved growing close with her these last few years. She really has touched my life and I am so grateful for her!

Thanksgiving Cook Off

Get excited, because this Wednesday is our annual USU Best Buddies Thanksgiving cook off! It is at 6pm at the Lundstrom Center on campus. Bring some food or a treat to share with the rest of the buddies. The best dish will win a prize. The judges of the food will include Miss Utah USA, Marissa Powell, Utah State University's ASUSU President, Christian Thrapp, along with Mr. USU. We look forward to seeing you and eating some yummy food!

Buddy Spotlight

This week we are spotlighting our buddy pair Melanie and Jessica. They have a really fun friendship. Some fun facts about Jessica and Melanie are; Zac Efron is their boyfriend and they LOVE High School Musical. They love to eat ice cream and watch movies together. They are sassy and like to tease each other. They love to sing in the car wherever they go! They like to dance and they hold hands everywhere they go. They love being together and have so much fun with each other. They make an awesome buddy pair!

Best Buddies Annual Halloween Party

Our BB annual Halloween party last Wednesday was a huge success! There was socializing, a cake walk, face painting, a pinata, dancing, a costume contest, root beer, tons of candy and lots of fun! Thank you SO much to the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity here at Utah State University for hosting the party and for all their help!
